- The global project addresed the institutional capacity building by supporting to the transitional parliament, the human rights bodies, civil society organisations and media. UNDP Burundi provided support in the area of access to information by supporting the formulation and advocate for the approval and promulgation of the legal framework of the press: "La loi sur la presse au Burundi, la loi portant organisation et fonctionnement du Conseil National de la Communication, Code déontologique de la Presse Burundaise et l'Observatoire de la Presse Burundaise; These laws straigthen the freedom and pluralism in information, promote the participation and protect the information profession and information's practitionners. UNDP supported capcity strenghtnening by training jouralists in some issues to promote citizen access to information
